Source: ESPN/Instagram/Twitter via Sportsmail Irish fans are calling for Conor McGregor to fight again.
One person who recently got in touch to discuss the issue is the host of ESPN’s Game Show Host, Michael Schuster.
“If you had to fight a guy and if he was Irish, how would you fight him?
I think Conor McGregor is the only Irish fighter in the sport today.
He has Irish blood in his veins,” he told The Irish Times.”
He’s one of the most famous fighters in the world, so I think it would be a good time to fight him again.”
McGregor, who won the UFC title in May, is the subject of intense speculation from fans who believe he is cheating the sport.
In the weeks since the fight, McGregor has taken to Twitter to vent his frustration at being labelled a “cheat” and the criticism has not gone away.
“Can I have a chance to fight the guy?
Nah, he’s Irish.
Can I have my shot at him?” he tweeted on Wednesday.
In an interview with Irish newspaper The Irish Sun on Wednesday, Schuster said he believes McGregor has a lot of fans because of his Irish roots.
“I’ve seen Conor’s Irish family, and they love him, and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t hear Irish people cheering for him,” he said.
“So yeah, I think that’s something he needs to work on.
But I also think he’s going to have a lot more fans than he has right now.”
A lot of them are fans of his heritage.
I think he needs a lot, especially because his Irish heritage is so important in this country.
“When I was a kid, my dad said to me one day, ‘Look, you’re Irish, but you’re a cheat.
It’s your blood on your hands’.”
