The host of Saturday Night Live, Michael Che, is one of the most famous personalities in America, with an audience that is twice as big as that of The Daily Show.
Last year, The Last Sunday Night host hosted the premiere of the Broadway musical Hamilton and the Emmy Award-winning musical West Side Story.
Last month, Che hosted the annual Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, which drew millions of viewers and drew a record-breaking number of Oscar nominations.
Che is now preparing to take on another role in the public consciousness.
He will host a special episode of the podcast The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, the NBC comedy-news talk show host and a fixture on the talk show circuit since 2013.
This week, Che will be hosting a podcast for HBO called The Last Words, hosted by actor Jonah Hill.
On the podcast, Che and Hill will talk about the current state of comedy, from comedy’s new “serious” and “woke” side to the “dark and funny” side of comedy.
The Last Word will be released in early March.
The first episode will feature the former SNL cast members, as well as new guest hosts Jonah Hill and Jonah Parris.
“I’m excited to have Jonah and Jonah Hill join us on the podcast for the first time,” Che said in a statement.
“They’ve been great collaborators on many projects over the years and I look forward to working with them on this one.
I’m also excited to welcome Jonah and Jon to The LastWord with Lawrence on HBO.
The Lastword with Lawrence and Jonah will feature interviews with some of comedy’s biggest names including Chris Rock, Patton Oswalt, Amy Poehler, and Keegan-Michael Key.”
We look forward for their insightful conversations and their candid interviews with our audience,” Che added.
While the podcast is intended to be a forum for fans of the late-night comedy scene, the hosts are hoping it will also serve as a platform for the comedy community to discuss issues of race and justice.
Che and the hosts plan to use their show to bring together the most interesting conversations and to discuss the current political climate.
It is an honor to host this podcast, which will bring together some of the brightest and most interesting comedians in comedy to discuss some of these issues,” Che told The New York Times. “
I am so excited to be joining The Last Last Word.
