Hosta Francis William will host soup hostesses at the Bell Centre this season.
William, the co-host of the Hockey Night in Canada breakfast show, announced on Twitter that she will be hosting the role in February.
The news comes two weeks after William took over as host of Hockey Night, hosted by NHL Network’s Mike Milbury.
She will join two other Soup Hostess of the Year nominees, Caroline Boussel of Quebec and Kelly McCarron of Manitoba.
The Soup Hostesses are part of a new era of soup hostess roles, which began with the SoupHostesses of the World series, in which the hosts host three or more seasons of soup in one weekend.
Willliam will be the first to host two seasons in a row, joining the other two finalists, Kelly McCartan of Quebec, and Victoria Wolk of Manitoba, who both took the role last season.
“I am thrilled to be part of this new era,” Willliam said in a statement.
I have a great team and a great plan for the upcoming season, and we are excited to be back in Ottawa for the start of the new season.”
